Qbits warranty and service terms: Qbits public datasheets describe an expandable warranty but do not define a universal duration, remedy, registration deadline, service SLA, or exclusions. Obtain the current written terms for the exact model and sale before relying on a headline claim.
ALMM and inverter compliance: MNRE’s current ALMM page publishes solar PV module and cell lists, not an inverter list. Verify the inverter’s exact model documents and applicable scheme or DISCOM requirements separately.
When Indian solar buyers look beyond the mid-market, Sungrow and Solis (Ginlong Technologies) both come up. They are two Chinese-origin manufacturers selling through Indian distributors, and each sells several families, so a brand name alone settles little. This page puts one matched 5 kW single-phase model from each next to the other, using each manufacturer’s own datasheet, then covers monitoring, warranty as published, certification and a plain “which to choose when” guide. It does not score or rank the brands and it quotes no prices.
Direct answer. Neither brand wins on every row. Compare two exact models for the same job. On the published 5 kW single-phase datasheets, Sungrow lists the wider maximum DC voltage and the lower MPPT window edge, Solis lists two strings per tracker and the higher enclosure rating, and the two are within a few tenths of a point on efficiency. Warranty years and service reach for your pincode are not settled by either datasheet, so get them in writing before you buy.

How this comparison works
This page does not give either brand a score or a ranking. A number out of 10 or a total out of 50 would rest on judgements about price, service reach and monitoring that no public source supports, and it would imply a precision the evidence cannot deliver.
What replaces it is a factual table of published specifications for matched models, the warranty and service information as the manufacturers publish it, and decision rules that say which facts matter for which buyer. Where a fact cannot be verified from a manufacturer’s own document, this page says so instead of estimating it.
Who the two companies are, and how to reach them in India
Sungrow is the world’s largest inverter manufacturer by installed capacity, with over 600 GW of inverters deployed globally as of 2025, according to the company.

Solis’s global contact page lists an India office at Goodwill BizHub, Minivel Service LLP (Solis), A-wing, unit no 337, Pawne, TTC Industrial Area, MIDC, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai 400703, with a service phone (+91 90906 09037), a service email (inservice@solisinverters.com), a sales phone and a sales email (indiasales@ginlong.com). Source: Solis global contact page. The listing names a service LLP and does not say whether it is a Ginlong subsidiary, so ask the seller who the warranty provider is.
Both listings were read on 14 October 2026 and can change. An entity and an email address are a way to open a claim. They do not tell you who would drive to your site, so ask the installer or distributor for the named service partner for your pincode.
Matched 5 kW single-phase specification comparison
The table compares the 5 kW model from each family. Both are single-phase, dual-MPPT, transformerless string inverters. The Sungrow figures come from the global datasheet for the SG5.0/6.0RS, version 12 (2023), which is not an India-specific version. The Solis figures come from the India datasheet. Regional versions of a datasheet differ, so confirm the figures against the version that ships with your unit.

Reading the table
Voltage window and maximum DC voltage. The Sungrow datasheet lists a lower MPPT window edge of 40 V, a start-up voltage of 50 V and a 600 V maximum DC input. The Solis datasheet lists 90 V, 100 V and 550 V. A lower edge helps on short strings or in low light, and a higher maximum gives more room on long strings in cold weather. Both are design constraints, not quality grades, so check your string’s hot-day maximum-power voltage against the lower limit and its cold-morning open-circuit voltage against the maximum.
Strings per tracker. The Solis datasheet lists two strings per tracker (four in total), and the Sungrow datasheet lists one string per tracker by default. If you want to parallel two strings on one tracker, the 16 A current limit per tracker applies to both brands, so check the sum against it. The dual MPPT guide and the string-sizing calculator cover the arithmetic.
Efficiency. The Sungrow datasheet lists 97.9% maximum and 97.3% European efficiency, and the Solis datasheet lists 97.7% and 97.1%. A gap of two tenths of a point is small next to the effect of shading, string design and clipping, so do not let it decide the purchase on its own.
Enclosure. The Sungrow datasheet lists IP65 and the Solis datasheet IP66. For a roof with heavy dust or monsoon exposure, check the rating on the exact model and the installation location.
Compliance lines. The Solis India datasheet prints IS 16169 and IS 16221 (BIS) references. The Sungrow global datasheet prints IEC/EN standards and no Indian standard numbers. That does not show that either product lacks Indian registration. It means you should ask each seller for the BIS registration and certificate for the exact model, and not rely on a datasheet line.
Monitoring
Sungrow’s monitoring runs through iSolarCloud, and its datasheet lists Ethernet, WLAN and RS485 communication, 10-second real-time data refresh and an online I-V curve scan. Solis monitoring uses SolisCloud, and its datasheet lists RS485 and USB with optional Wi-Fi or GPRS. We have not tested the two platforms side by side, so this page does not rank them. Settle these questions with whoever supplies the unit:
If you manage several sites, ask each seller for a demo account and test the multi-site view yourself.

Neither page is an India-specific contract. Ask the seller for the document that actually applies to your sale, and for who pays removal, transport and refit if the remedy is a replacement.
Both brands’ warranty periods end well before the system’s 25-year productive life. Plan for an inverter replacement after the warranty expires, and ask for a dated replacement quote when you buy. See the inverter total cost of ownership guide for a way to model it and the solar inverter warranty comparison guide for a framework on evaluating terms.

Key compliance facts for buyers:
- ALMM is module/cell focused: MNRE’s current ALMM page publishes PV module and cell lists and related orders, not a Sungrow or Solis inverter list. Check the current MNRE page.
- Inverter evidence is model-specific: request the exact certificate, grid-interface document and utility evidence required for the project. Do not substitute a brand-level compliance sentence.
- Scheme responsibility is shared by the contract and process: the applicant and vendor should verify the equipment and current requirements before installation. See the PM Surya Ghar vendor guide.
Price
This page quotes no prices. Street prices vary by state, distributor, season and what the quote includes, and we found no dated, like-for-like listings for these two models. To compare two offers fairly, check that both name the same array, mounting, cabling, protection devices, monitoring hardware, DISCOM application and commissioning, and that both list exclusions. Only then does a price difference say something about the inverters.
Residential or commercial: what to compare
Both brands sell residential single-phase and commercial three-phase string inverters. Each manufacturer’s range runs to several families, and the MPPT counts and DC limits of a given kW size differ by model and regional variant. For a commercial roof with several string orientations, put the exact models on one worksheet: number of MPPTs, DC voltage window against your string design, current per MPPT, AC ratings, communication, and the written service plan for your site. For a finance-backed project, ask the lender for its written equipment and document requirements first.
Which to choose when
These rules are starting points. Your district’s service route and your array design override them.
- Short strings or a roof with low string voltage. The Sungrow SG5.0RS lists a lower MPPT window edge and start-up voltage than the Solis S6-GR1P5K-S. If your hot-day string voltage is close to the Solis 90 V lower edge, that favours the Sungrow datasheet. Check your actual string design first.
- Long strings in cold weather. The Sungrow datasheet lists a 600 V maximum DC input against 550 V for Solis. Check your cold-morning open-circuit voltage against both.
- Two strings you want to combine on one tracker. The Solis datasheet lists two strings per tracker. The Sungrow datasheet lists one by default. Confirm current limits and connector arrangement on both before relying on this.
- Dusty or wet rooftop. The Solis datasheet lists IP66 and the Sungrow datasheet IP65. Check the rating for the exact model and the install location.
- You want the warranty term settled before you buy. Neither datasheet states it. Ask each seller for the document that applies to your sale and the model’s region.
- PM Surya Ghar projects. Verify the modules on the MNRE ALMM portal, and ask for each inverter model’s BIS registration and current certificates before purchase.
- Remote or small-town site. Ask each brand’s seller for the named service partner for your pincode and what they stock. The brand’s national contact does not answer this.
Common Mistakes When Comparing Sungrow and Solis
- Treating a brand as a rating. Each brand sells several families, so compare model with model.
- Treating warranty term as warranty quality. Read the start date, remedy and exclusions, and who the warranty provider is for your sale.
- ALMM scope: MNRE’s current page publishes PV module and cell lists, not an inverter list. Verify the exact module/cell models and check inverter documents separately.
- Carrying a figure from one regional datasheet to a different variant. Both brands publish regional versions, and older dealer stock may carry different grid settings. Confirm India-grid settings with the dealer before purchase.
- Not confirming local service availability. Ask your dealer which specific service centre handles your pincode and what their documented response time is for residential warranty claims. Do not accept a national service network description as an answer to a local service question.
For a deeper look at what service differences mean in practice, see the solar inverter failure guide.
Where Qbits fits
